Institute of IT Training appoints InfoBasis’ Donald Taylor to board
The UK's Institute of IT Training (IITT) today announced the appointment of InfoBasis director Donald Taylor to the board as a non-executive director. Appointed at the same time is Colin Thompson, former Deputy Chief Executive of the BCS.
Established in 1995, the IITT is the world's first professional body for IT training professionals, and represents training departments, training suppliers and individual IT trainers. Part of the National Computing Centre (NCC) since 2003, its mission is to continuously raise standards of professionalism within the IT training industry.
"We are very pleased to have our new non-executives on board," said NCC Chief Executive Michael Gough. "Adding their combined experience to our leadership is part of our plan to grow the Institute and ensure it continues both to represent the profession and to set the highest professional standards."
"I'm a profound supporter of the work of the Institute," said Colin Thompson, former Deputy Chief Executive of the British Computer Society. "Building the right IT skills in the UK is essential for the country's competitive future."
"It's a great honour to be asked to serve on the board," added InfoBasis Strategic Alliances Director Donald Taylor. "This is an exciting time to be part of the industry, and I am looking forward to playing my part in its success."
