Flagship Training tracks human capital with InfoBasis capability management

Naval training organisation increases operational efficiency with skills management of training and project management employees

Flagship Training Ltd (Flagship) has today announced that it has signed a five year agreement to use InfoBasis capability management technology to manage the human capital of over 1,000 employees, working in its training and project management streams.

The Portsmouth-based organisation delivers military and maritime training to over 400 organisations around the world, on topics as diverse as warfare, engineering, fire fighting and leadership skills. Having recently signed a £120m extension to its partnering arrangement with the Royal Navy, Flagship wanted to ensure that they could effectively manage, develop and deploy their training delivery and support staff for this contract expansion.

"We will use InfoBasis ESM (Enterprise Skills Manager) to fully understand our capability - the knowledge, skills and experience we possess in our organisation - enabling us to do more in less time" says Flagship's Business Transformation Consultant, Sebastien Jouan. "After considering all the available options, choosing InfoBasis was easy. Their product offers effective human capital reporting, and the company has a solid track record of working with the defence sector, plus a good understanding of the project management capability."

InfoBasis was also able to respond to Flagship's needs within a tight timescale. "The result is that we can now begin our skills audit, and ensure Personal Development Plans are in place for all our training and project management personnel within 6 months," says Sebastien.

"Flagship supplies the Royal Navy and others with excellent training," said InfoBasis CEO Ashley Wheaton. "Using InfoBasis technology they can further increase the efficiency of their operations and - ultimately - improve the service they offer."
