University uses InfoBasis expertise to standardise IT staff training and development
InfoBasis extends capability management to academia.
Anglia Ruskin, the Cambridge-and Chelmsford-based University, has turned to capability management expert InfoBasis to enhance career development plans across its IT community.
Following a successful pilot using InfoBasis Enterprise Skills Manager™ (InfoBasis ESM), Anglia Ruskin University has decided to implement the software for the use of the 100 strong IT workforce. The University aims to improve the performance of their staff by introducing coherent career development within a structured IT profession.
QA-IQ, the leading provider of technical, professional and management & development skills, as well as bespoke learning solutions, provided Anglia Ruskin University with the learning content mapped to Skills Framework for the Information Age (SFIA). The company also provided consultancy support in specifying job roles for the staff.
“We wanted to move away from the non-standardised method of tracking employees’ career paths and training. We needed to ensure all of our IT professionals have the same benefits of developing, enhancing, and monitoring their skills and talent, and that their development is in line with our corporate strategy and their job roles,” said Ajay Burlingham-Böhr, Director of IT Strategy and Systems, Anglia Ruskin University.
“Our IT staff deserve to have industry standard training across the organisation, and with the combined expertise of InfoBasis and QA-IQ, we plan to make this a reality.”
Lisa Watts, Account Manager at QA-IQ, added: ”Training is more effective when it’s closely matched to the requirements of the individual and their job role. By establishing a strong structure for this learning programme Anglia Ruskin University will provide its staff with significant benefits and ensure that new skills are immediately applied in the workplace.”
InfoBasis CEO Ashley Wheaton commented on the university’s implementation of capability management software: “Anglia Ruskin’s decision to use InfoBasis ESM shows a great commitment to the evolution of training and development across the organisation and recognition of the benefits of optimising the resource pool.”
