InfoBasis director Donald Taylor honoured with IITT outstanding achievement award

At Thursday’s Institute of IT Training’s (IITT) annual award ceremony, InfoBasis strategic alliances director Donald Taylor was presented with the Colin Corder award for outstanding achievement to IT training.

Established in 2000, the award is given annually to ‘a person who has made a significant and lasting contribution to the IT training industry’. In 2006, it was presented to Microsoft’s then Director of Learning Evangelism and Strategy Bob Mosher. Other past recipients have included industry analyst David Pardo and e-learning thought-leader Clive Shepherd.

“He is a tremendous ambassador for the profession and is one of the most respected commentators in training around the world,” said IITT chief executive Colin Steed. “This year he received more individual nominations for this award than we have ever received before. His many personal and professional qualities would have made him a credit to whatever field he chose. We should be grateful he chose IT training.”

“Being presented with this award is a great honour,” commented Donald Taylor. “From being a classroom trainer at Oxford Computer Group years ago to helping organisations with their capability management at InfoBasis today, I have always believed there is a beneficial balance between individual development and organisational need. I aim to continue helping organisations and individuals find that balance in the future.”
