InfoBasis releases new version of its proprietary Development Framework to OEM partners
Based on 2 years’ R&D, the framework enables rapid, robust solution development aligned to enterprise client needs
Skills management expert InfoBasis announced today a major new version release of its InfoBasis Development Framework to all OEM development partners. The fruit of 2 years’ research and development, the major re-write of the framework includes enhancements made possible by the release of greater support for XML and service-oriented architecture in ASP.NET 2.0 and SQL Server 2005. The framework allows rapid production of large-scale solutions without the need for new code requiring compiling.
“We are already using the new framework internally on the next generation of InfoBasis products,” said Technical Director Nicholas Revell. “It means we can rapidly develop enterprise solutions built to client specifications, rather than the common industry practice of trying to sell your customers what you think they might need. OEM partners are a key part of InfoBasis’ success. This release demonstrates our recognition of that, and our commitment to them.”
JGP, one of InfoBasis OEM partners is looking forward to developing using the framework. “We already have many clients with solutions developed using the InfoBasis Development Framework,” says Project Manager for Skills Portal Paul White. “The enhancements offered in this new version will enable us to significantly reduce the development life cycle, enabling us to meet our customer needs faster.”
The InfoBasis Development Framework enables developers to rapidly exploit the full power of technologies such as Microsoft ASP.NET 2.0 and SQL Server 2005 by providing an additional development framework layer specifically designed for the development or customisation of large-scale enterprise solutions. In conjunction with a suite of proprietary tools developed by InfoBasis, the framework enables a unique, data-driven approach to software development.
“The tiers of the traditional three-tier architecture are separated logically in our model, but not physically,” explains Revell. “By defining the layers through scripts, we eliminate the routine writing of raw code to handle the information flowing between them, and increase the speed of configuration and customer response.”
One unexpected benefit of the framework is that it is possible to use development staff more efficiently because it enables them to use several different technology platforms expertly, rather than just one or two.
“The InfoBasis ESI platform has always given us a significant advantage,” says Revell, “this development framework takes it to the next level.”
