Competency framework specialist ITG and InfoBasis form global partnership
Skills management expert recognised as technology leader
ITG Competency Group, the world’s largest independent producer of competency models, and skills management expert InfoBasis have signed a world-wide partnership agreement. InfoBasis will make ITG’s entire suite of over 10 competency models available on a single technology platform for the first time.
The ITG set of competency models covers market sectors such as insurance, banking and manufacturing, and will be hosted on the InfoBasis Enterprise Skills Infrastructure™ (ESI) technology platform. Clients currently using the models include Atomic Weapons Establishment, CIBC Bank and Metropolitan Life Insurance.
“ITG has focused solely on developing competency frameworks for over 15 years. We do not develop competency software but have always been aware of the potential benefits of making the frameworks available on a technology platform,” said ITG Managing Principal, Cliff Hallberg. “The InfoBasis Enterprise Skills Infrastructure is perfectly designed to manage all of the considerable amount of information which each framework includes. The combination of the ITG competency frameworks and the InfoBasis software allows for a fast and comprehensive assessment of people skills against the competencies key to each job.”
ITG’s competency models include job profiles, competency descriptions and behaviour-based proficiency descriptions as well as learning references. They have typically been developed through years of industry research and practical application.
“Thanks to this partnership with ITG, InfoBasis’ clients will be able to deploy a comprehensive, fully populated, skills management solution using tried and tested industry models in a matter of days. Not only will the deployment time be greatly reduced, but the detail provided by ITG’s frameworks will increase the level of analysis available to most organisations,” said InfoBasis CEO Ashley Wheaton. “Existing users of ITG models will benefit from the extra analysis and ease of use that are possible thanks to hosting on InfoBasis ESI.”
Hallberg commented, “The agreement makes available a strong competency management solution for our existing customers, as well as opening up opportunities in European markets where InfoBasis operates. We are very excited to have InfoBasis as resellers of our competency models.”
