Substantial Pre-Orders for InfoBasis Readiness Manager Dynamic Training Needs Analysis Service

Substantial pre-orders were reported today for software aimed at providing dynamic Training Needs Analysis (TNA). InfoBasis, a leading provider of skills management technology, said it would begin processing orders on the launch of Readiness Manager at this week’s Learning Technologies Exhibition in London.

“We have never known such levels of interest before a product launch,” said InfoBasis CEO Ashley Wheaton. “It’s clear that Readiness Manager satisfies a very real need among larger employers – to fully understand their skills base and training requirements.” Although initially targeted at the IT skills market, Wheaton predicts sales extending into other areas. “Readiness Manager includes the capacity to build skills frameworks around any subject matter.”

An internet-hosted service, Readiness Manager can be set up for organisations in a matter of days, and comes pre-loaded with industry-standard skills frameworks such as SFIA (the Skills Framework for the Information Age) and Microsoft Technologies Skills Framework. Standard reports from the system include Personal Development Plans (PDPs), detailed Training Needs Analysis (TNA) by department and team, and the ability to focus the training budget on high priority skills.

InfoBasis’ channel partners agreed that pre-launch levels of interest were high. Xpertise Commercial Director Bill Walker said: “Over the past months, whenever we have demonstrated the pre-launch beta version, we have generated considerable interest. For every 10 demonstrations we have made, we have generated about 8 orders.”

Based near Oxford, England, the privately-owned software house has enjoyed an unprecedented period of growth over the past 12 months, doubling in staff numbers and more than trebling revenues. “With interest like this in our products, we can look forward to another year of substantial growth in 2005,” said Wheaton.
