National Computing Centre’s e-GIF Competency and Testing Tool runs on InfoBasis Technology
Underpins UK-wide drive to interoperability between public sector IT systems
London, UK (28th September, 2004) – The National Computing Centre (NCC) today launched its new on-line e-GIF Competency and Testing Tool for the e-GIF (e-Government Interoperability Framework). The e-GIF Skills Tracker has been designed and developed by InfoBasis Limited, a leading provider of skills management technologies.
An online system, the e-GIF Skills Tracker allows e-GIF practitioners to maintain an independent record of their e-GIF competencies and to find approved training courses to develop their skills. Skills are assessed within 6 competences, (including Data Integration and Smart Cards) and within 6 job roles.
Once registered on the e-GIF Skills Tracker system, users are entered on the database of recognised e-GIF practitioners, are able to validate their skills through courses taken and certifications passed, and can take the Foundation Exam, that proves their e-GIF skills.. In addition they are able to maintain a CPD record of their skills development and get advice on further training and certification options.
