InfoBasis Enterprise Skills Infrastructure automates Ergon’s human performance improvement services

Ergon adopts InfoBasis’ skills management solution to streamline its skills frameworks and self-certification offerings

London, UK, 30th March 2004: InfoBasis Limited, a leading provider of skills management business solutions, today announced that Ergon, a major player in the provision of human performance improvement (HPI) services, has selected InfoBasis Enterprise Skills Infrastructure (ESI) to automate the skills frameworks and self-certification processes it offers clients.

“InfoBasis ideally complements our business profile. They consider people as a company’s most important asset rather than as just a commodity. The implementation of InfoBasis ESI will significantly streamline our approach to skills frameworks and self-certification by automating the manual, paper-based processes we use with clients,” commented Nigel Wallis, Operations Director at Ergon. “InfoBasis ESI will enable us to assess more effectively an individual’s capability for a specific role. This will in turn help our clients to achieve considerable performance improvement, enabling them to use their staff’s skills more effectively.”

Ergon’s objective is to assist HR directors and senior management in improving personnel deployment, training, recruitment and skills knowledge management in line with their business strategy. Ergon selected InfoBasis ESI as it helps them do exactly this, and because it is skills-focused and can be used to automate manual processes. The solution is easy to use, highly flexible and facilitates an enterprise view of personnel capabilities with no restrictions on how it is analysed and employed. InfoBasis ESI is able to also integrate industry standard skills frameworks and bespoke skills templates.

“We are delighted with the flexibility of InfoBasis ESI as it is highly configurable and can be modified to precise requirements, yet at the same time it has open-ended potential to incorporate new applications to broaden the product further. Significantly for us, the solution can be hosted as an application service or deployed in-house. This allows pricing and deployment to suit every organisation. Another advantage is compatibility, as the solution can use data from, or provide details for integration with, other information systems,” continued Wallis.

Ashley Wheaton, CEO at InfoBasis, explained, “By implementing InfoBasis ESI, Ergon will be able to better service the needs of its customers and therefore achieve greater success in future projects. Ergon will also experience improved relationships within the skills management world enabling them to forge further business alliances with, for example, trade and Government bodies, and our resellers.”
