Institute of IT Training launches membership Skills Tracker using InfoBasis technology
On-line solution helps members define development goals and streamlines institute’s membership processing
London, England (7 January, 2004) – The Institute of IT Training (IITT) today launched its new on-line Skills Tracker service. The service – of benefit to both members and the institute – has been designed and developed by InfoBasis Limited, a leading provider of skills management business solutions.
Skills Tracker allows members and non-members to grade themselves against the IITT's own framework of training skills and competencies, apply for institute membership, and focus their future personal development. It also enables the institute – which is growing rapidly – to keep track of membership applications and process them more rapidly.
"Our membership is building as enterprises and individual trainers increasingly come to appreciate the value of high-quality, accredited training," says IITT Chief Executive Colin Steed. "Skills Tracker will help members and candidates continue to develop as training professionals, and it will help us continue to provide the best quality of membership services as we grow. We needed an internet solution that was scalable, managed the membership process and provided valuable information back to our members. InfoBasis provided all this, and worked closely with us throughout development to ensure that our needs were met."
"Personal skills development and accreditation are becoming increasingly important as we move towards a knowledge economy," says InfoBasis CEO Ashley Wheaton. "The IITT is leading the way in providing this form of professional development and membership application tool. The InfoBasis technology provides exactly the right platform for this type of solution, and we are delighted to be working with the institute."
Users of Skills Tracker can assess themselves against the 12 different specialisations defined in the IITT Skills Framework, including Classroom Delivery, e-Learning Development, and Management, and apply for one of four levels of membership.
