Pre-Sales Consultant

This pre-sales role is a key part of the Sales operation at InfoBasis. Pre-Sales Consultants work in partnership with account managers and as a key liaison between the client and the technical services team at InfoBasis to deliver software based talent management solutions.

The person holding this role will develop a deep/broad understanding of InfoBasis product set and be involved in supporting the sales account management team by presenting this information to InfoBasis’ partners and customers. They will be responsible for preparing demonstration systems and demonstrating product functionality on customer visits with the sales account managers. They will also assist the sales account managers with responses to customer questions which are of a technical nature.

Another dimension of this role will include helping the account manager in setting customer expectations for any subsequent deployment or consulting engagement process.

They will also act as the initial point of reference for client expectations, translating their descriptions into functional needs and transferring this knowledge to the assigned deployment consultant. Thereafter the deployment consultant will take responsibility for the delivery of the project. The degree of consulting required will vary on a project by project basis. An element of this work will include capturing information for additional customer requirements at a functional specification level.

This Pre-Sales Consultant may also be involved in the delivery of revenue earning services/training to clients.

This person will be responsible for continuing to update themselves on new features, functions and reports that are developed for other clients, as well as core product development to ensure reuse of solutions and awareness of new functionality. An additional responsibility will also involve actively preparing product collateral including slide presentations and the delivery of product training.

The person filling this position will combine product knowledge with their outstanding communication and presentation skills. The position requires someone who is enthusiastic and innovative.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Deliver customer presentations: support sales account managers with customer site visits and present demonstration systems.

Prepare demonstration systems: populate demonstration systems with customer skills data, re-brand sites and demonstrate to customers or prepare sales account managers so that they may demonstrate.

Provide consulting expertise: explain the engagement process, prepare the customer for the ongoing engagement and transfer this knowledge to the deployment consultant.

Provide responses to customer questions: liaise with the Technical Services team to provide responses to customers’ technical questions at the pre-sales stage; assist with RFP responses.

Create pre-sales collateral: write demonstration scripts, product information sheets and other pre-sales collateral which may be used by the sales account managers to provide potential customers with the information that they need.

Develop and deliver product training: create customised short courses and deliver training to InfoBasis’ partners and customers.

Skills Required

Consultancy: proven ability in a consultative sales approach, ability to provide pre-sales consultancy support to customers.

Communication: excellent communication skills (written, oral, virtual); ability to deliver and engage customers; present a positive and professional image of InfoBasis.

Presentation Skills: strong presentation and facilitation skills; ability to create and deliver effective presentations; ability to impart enthusiasm to customers; ability to extract customer needs and goals in workshops.

Software Demonstration Skills: must be competent in delivering virtual as well as live software demostrations.

Training Content Development: experience in development of educational courseware for facilitated workshops.

Technical skills: a good working knowledge of all the Microsoft Office suite and in particular Microsoft Word,Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Excel Pivot Tables; a working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL would be useful..

Project Management: previous experience of planning, organising and coordinating resources and processes to coordinate and deliver projects.
